Tirana/Albania
Starting From

  • BUNKART Albania

    Itinerary

Bunkart tour will take you 100-meters underground revealing interesting facts about the two most discussed periods of the Albanian history, the Second World War and the communist regime.

    Duration: One Day Tour

    Itinerary: Tirana-Dajti Mountain

In the morning, driver and guide will pick you up at your hotel and take you to the National Historic Museum, country’s largest museum, which features a wide range of objects, from paleolithic to post-Hoxha modern life. From here we go to the latest attraction of Tirana, the underground bunker of the dictator Hoxha, located near mountain of Dajti. A large secret bunker built in the 1970s by Albania's communist regime to survive a nuclear bomb, and has been opened to the public for the first time on Albania's World War Two liberation day on 29th of November, 23 years after the fall of communism. It is an underground nuclear bunker with 5 floors, 106 rooms and a gigantic hall for the People’s Assembly. It is certainly worth a visit for curious citizens and for those who want to dive into the fragile relationship between the authenticity offered by the bunker’s original spaces and the reproduction or falsification of historical truth.

We then proceed to Dajti Mountain, taking the cable car offering a panoramic view over the delightful city of Tirana. Here we will enjoy lunch in a traditional restaurant surrounded by the flora and fauna.  After spending such quality time in the lush forests of Dajti Mountain, we return back to Tirana. End of our Service.
